Pagdating ng panahon english lyrics

Assisted by Batooy Ambag, a son- in-law of a datu, and Pilisianu Tisio, Manuel recorded the epic from 21 November to 25 November 1963.

Blagtas Pandakan learned the epic from his uncle Sugalan, who had learned it from his father, Ampalid. Living in the country of Ayuman are the heroes Vanlak/Banlak, Agyu, and Kuyasu.

When Banlak hears this, he wants to return to his wife. When the betel nut and pinipi or young rice have been distributed, the people feel a new life coming to them.

Agyu thinks of returning to Ayuman; the people follow him. Agyu says they have come too late, for Mungan has already ascended to heaven. He decides to continue their journey until they reach Tigyandang, more popularly known as Nalandangan.

One day Agyu sends nine kamu or lumps of beeswax to a Moro datu who is his trading partner. The Moro datu is irked at the meanness of the payment; and he hurls the beeswax at Kuyasu, hurting the latter’s foot, which has an ulcer.

Upon hearing this, the leader’s son fights him, using a bar of gold.

Banlak’s wife, named Mungan, is badly afflicted with a consuming disease, leprosy.

One of the subsistence occupations of the Ilianon people is the gathering of beeswax which they trade with the Moros, their distant neighbors, for articles and goods that they need.

The leader of the attackers invites Tanagyaw, the boy, to come home with him, but the boy refuses. Paniguan offers him chew as a token of their marriage, but he says that he is not interested. Agyu is surprised to find his son accompanied by a young lady.

When he returns home, however, he finds Tanagyaw in his house. Asked about her identity, the maiden insists on marrying Tanagyaw. After some time, Agyu’s country itself is endangered by invaders coming from across the sea.
